What's metered

Most route software charges by the stop, which means the busy week you wanted costs more than the quiet one. Swoop IO doesn't. Stops and routes are unlimited on every plan and are never counted. Four things are counted, one of them can add to a bill, and this page says exactly what each one does when it runs out. Every number here is read from the same catalogue the app bills from — if a plan changes, this page changes with it.
1Never counted, on any plan
- Stops and routes. No per-stop fee exists in the product. Deliver ten a day or a thousand.
- Optimize clicks. Re-solve a round as often as you like. The click is free; only the engine behind it can be metered, and only as described below.
- Dispatchers, admins and office users. Free and unlimited on Team and Fleet. A seat is a driver — see §4.
- Recipient tracking pages and email notices. Included, at any volume. (SMS isn't offered yet — when it is, it will be priced, not quietly switched on.)
- Live traffic on a dispatched round. Turn-by-turn directions with congestion drawn on the road come with every dispatch on every plan.
2The one meter that can add to a bill: smart optimization
Two engines solve a round. The built-in engine is free and unlimited: it honours your time windows, pinned first/last stops and locked positions, and uses real road distances while the drive-time budget in §3 lasts. Smart optimizationsends the round to Google's traffic-aware solver, which is what buys you the ordering and the drive times that live traffic implies — and it costs us money per stop, so each plan includes an allowance.

The dispatcher is never surprised. While the allowance lasts, the Smart optimizationbox beside Optimize is ticked and the meter beside it reads how much is left. When it's spent the box unticks itself and Optimize keeps working on the free engine. Tick it back on and the price for that specific round is shown before you click — 6¢ for each stop past the allowance, and nothing at all for the stops still inside it. Anything that solves without a dispatcher watching — the driver app's Optimize, the API — uses smart while the allowance lasts and then falls back to the free engine. It never creates a charge nobody chose.
Worked example on Team: the plan includes 1,300 smart stops and two drivers add 600 more. A month of 2,100 smart-solved stops is 200 past the allowance — $12.00, and only if the dispatcher ticked the box each time after being shown the price.
3The quiet ceilings
Three more meters exist so a shared key can't be run up without limit. None of them bills you anything — two degrade gracefully and two tell you how to get through. The fourth row is how long proof is kept, which isn't a cost ceiling but belongs on the same page.

Drive-time lookups are the one worth understanding: they only run when the built-in engine solves, because a smart solve gets its distances from Google in the same call. So the two meters trade off — a workspace that lives on smart optimization barely touches this one.
4People
A seat is a driver. Specifically: someone on your team who signs in as themselves and is an active driver. Dispatchers, admins and office users cost nothing and there is no limit on them. A dispatcher who also drives is a driver seat, like anyone else. Deactivate a driver and the seat frees immediately.
- Solo: 1 driver · unlimited stops.
- Team: 1 driver included, then $25/driver/mo · dispatchers free; each added driver also brings 300 more smart stops a month.
- Fleet: 1 driver included, then $25/driver/mo · dispatchers free; each added driver also brings 300 more smart stops a month.
- Temp and contract drivers never need an account: hand them an invite code and they bill $2/dayfor each day they are actually active — nothing on the days they aren't. (Not available on Solo.)
- During the 7-day trial — up to 15 drivers, no card, nothing charged. Paid plans include one driver, so the billing screen tells you what your current driver count would cost on each plan before you choose.
5Billing periods
Monthly or annual, your choice, on every plan; annual is 15% off the base price. Driver seats always bill monthly, on either period, because a fleet's headcount moves during a year and pre-buying seats you might not need isn't a discount. Smart-optimization overage, when you choose it, is reported to Stripe as it happens and appears on your next invoice with the round it came from. Cancel any time and keep access through the end of what you paid for; prices change only with 30 days' notice before your renewal.
6In one sentence
Stops are never metered. Smart optimization past your allowance is 6¢ a stop, by your own tick, priced before you click — and everything else, when it runs out, either keeps working a simpler way or tells you exactly how to get through.
